Description

An easy and delicious marinade to prepare tender and juicy grilled tuna steaks.


Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon coarsely cracked black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Juice of half a lemon (about 2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the olive oil, honey, minced garlic, cilantro, parsley, salt, cumin, cracked black pepper, smoked paprika, and lemon juice until fully blended.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in a Ziploc bag or shallow dish, and pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill, skillet, or broiler to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the steaks for about 6-8 minutes on each side, turning only once, until the center temperature reaches 90-95°F for medium-rare.
  5. Let the tuna rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For varying flavors, experiment with different herbs or add a splash of soy sauce.
