  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Brown it, breaking it up with a spatula, for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Toss in the sliced bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add in the crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the skillet mixture and toss to ensure everything is well-coated.
  6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of fresh basil if you like.
