- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with a tablespoon of butter.
- Arrange the sliced bread evenly in the dish, then layer with the sliced bananas.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and bananas, ensuring each slice is coated.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
- The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving to let the flavors settle.
