Description

Delicious cookies combining zesty orange and rich dark chocolate for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract, egg, and orange zest until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined—don’t overmix!
  6. Fold in the dark chocolate chunks gently.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider toasting the dark chocolate chunks before folding them into the dough.
