- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract, egg, and orange zest until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined—don’t overmix!
- Fold in the dark chocolate chunks gently.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider toasting the dark chocolate chunks before folding them into the dough.
