- 1 lb brioche, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups half and half
- 2 1/2 cups peaches, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch thick wedges
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon for sprinkling
- Powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, lemon juice, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well blended.
- Layer the brioche cubes evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Distribute the sliced peaches over the bread cubes.
- Pour the custard mixture over the brioche and peaches, pressing down gently to ensure the bread absorbs the custard.
- Mix the flour and brown sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of your dish with the chilled butter pieces and additional cinnamon.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden and set.
- Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm!
