Description
A rich, velvety chocolate buttercream frosting that transforms any dessert.
Ingredients

- 1 cup (224g) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 1/2 cups (403g) powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup (57g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4–8 tbsp (60-120ml) heavy whipping cream or water
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Beat the butter until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add half of the powdered sugar gradually and mix until well combined and airy.
- Incorporate the cocoa powder and mix until smooth.
- Pour in the vanilla extract with 2 tablespoons of cream (or water) and blend well.
- Drop in the remaining powdered sugar and mix until creamy.
- Adjust the texture by adding more cream or water until the desired consistency is reached; add the salt and mix again.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days, or in the fridge for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
