Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and adjust the oven rack to the second-level position.
- Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with baking spray and consider lining it with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, cocoa powder, and espresso powder in a medium bowl.
- Beat melted butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract with a mixer in a large bowl until blended.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness around the 25-minute mark.
- Prepare the pecan filling by combining granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, corn syrup, whisked egg, unsalted butter, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until mixed well, then remove from heat and stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan filling over the brownies once baked and sprinkle with sea salt flakes.
- Return the brownies to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, checking around the 15-minute mark.
- Cool the brownies completely in the pan before cutting.
