Description
A delightful twist on traditional chili with lean ground turkey and creamy white beans, perfect for family meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) white beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 1 fresh lime
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Toss in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the ground turkey, browning it thoroughly.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, white beans, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Bring everything to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for 20-30 minutes, letting the flavors meld together beautifully.
- Before serving, stir in the fresh lime juice for that zesty kick.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
Notes
For a thicker chili, let it simmer uncovered for the last 10-15 minutes. Substitute ground turkey with plant-based meat for a vegetarian option.
