Description

A flavorful Vietnamese grilled chicken marinated in a zesty combination of fish sauce, garlic, and lime, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh herbs (such as cilantro and mint) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, vegetable oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, lime juice, and black pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Place your chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish, and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and lightly charred.
  5. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve your Vietnamese grilled chicken over rice or in a vibrant salad, garnished with fresh herbs for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

For maximum flavor, marinate the chicken overnight; it can also be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
