Instructions
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until well blended.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients gradually, stirring until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the beignets from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
