Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 4 bell peppers (any color, chopped)
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sautรฉ the onions and garlic until they are translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet, cooking until browned, then drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in the chopped bell peppers, diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for around 5 minutes.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce mixture in a large baking dish, ensuring everything is mixed well.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
