Description

Juicy marinated steak wrapped in warm pita, topped with fresh vegetables and creamy tzatziki—a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup diced cucumbers
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add your steak to the bowl and ensure it’s well coated with the marinade. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated steak on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  4. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  5. Warm the pita breads on the grill for about 1 minute on each side until heated through.
  6. To assemble, lay the sliced steak in the center of each pita. Top with tomatoes, cucumbers, sliced red onion, and a dollop of tzatziki sauce.
  7. Wrap the pita around the fillings and enjoy while it’s still warm!
