Delicious spiced lentil burgers topped with a creamy tahini slaw, perfect for a wholesome meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the cooked lentils, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
  2. Form the mixture into burger-sized patties using your hands.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown and crisp.
  4. Prepare the tahini slaw by mixing tahini, lemon juice, shredded cabbage, and a pinch of salt in another bowl.
  5. Serve the lentil burger on a plate, top with tahini slaw, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

These burgers can be served on a toasted bun, over greens, or with various toppings like tomatoes or avocado.
