Description

A comforting dish of tender beef cooked in a savory-sweet teriyaki sauce, perfect for busy weeknights and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup mirin or rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
  • Rice, noodles, or vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. In your slow cooker, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin (or rice vinegar), minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir well to mix everything.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the slow cooker, ensuring every piece is coated in the sauce.
  3. Set your slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The beef should emerge tender and full of flavor.
  4. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little cold water and stir it into the sauce in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Serve the tantalizing beef over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

Feel free to add sesame seeds or chopped green onions for garnish. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
