- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced potatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, shredded cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Toss gently to ensure everything is evenly mixed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, and melted butter until well combined.
- Layer half of the potato mixture in the slow cooker, followed by half of the creamy milk mixture.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potato mix and milk mixture.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Cook until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbling with deliciousness.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding cooked bacon or ham. You can experiment with different cheese varieties and add fresh herbs.
