- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup homemade salted caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup toasted nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9ร13-inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the creamed ingredients until combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and your choice of toasted nuts until evenly distributed.
- Spread half of the cookie dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- Drizzle the homemade salted caramel sauce over this dough layer.
- Crumble the remaining cookie dough over the caramel.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
For a nut-free version, substitute nuts with seeds. You can also use dairy-free chocolate chips for a lactose-intolerant option.
