Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring into the butter-sugar mix, beating until fully combined.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, mixing just until everything is incorporated.
- Scoop out tablespoons of dough, rolling them into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar until generously coated.
- Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
