- 1 16 oz loaf French bread or Texas toast
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 15 oz can pumpkin
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9″x13″ baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cut your bread into 1″-2″ squares and place them into a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, cream, pumpkin puree, eggs, sugars, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Pour this rich custard over the bread and stir gently to coat every piece. Let the mixture soak for about 20 minutes.
- After soaking, spread the bread mixture into your prepared baking dish. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the center is set.
- Once done, cut into squares and serve warm.
Notes
Try serving with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
