Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet.
- Cut the pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Mix the shredded cheese with salt, pepper, and any optional herbs or spices in a bowl.
- Evenly sprinkle the cheese mixture over half of each pastry strip.
- Fold the other half of each strip over the cheese and gently press to seal.
- Brush the tops of the folded strips with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.
- Arrange the cheese straws on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a delightful golden brown.
