- 1 pound breakfast sausage (or your favorite protein)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 6 slices of bread (cubed)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar works great)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: diced bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Whisk together the eggs and milk in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the cubed bread to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
- Fold in the cooked sausage and any additional vegetables or spices you desire.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Top with cheese, then cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until set and golden.
