Description

A hearty breakfast casserole packed with eggs, sausage, cheese, and bread, perfect for family gatherings and lazy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (or your favorite protein)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 slices of bread (cubed)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar works great)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: diced bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and milk in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the cubed bread to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Fold in the cooked sausage and any additional vegetables or spices you desire.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  7. Top with cheese, then cover with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until set and golden.

Notes

Let the casserole sit for a few minutes after baking to help flavors meld and make slicing easier.
