Description

Savory and flavorful Cowboy Mushrooms, perfect as an appetizer or side dish, showcasing garlic, butter, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large mushrooms (like portobello or cremini)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Toss the mushrooms with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a large bowl, ensuring all sides are coated.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add garlic, onion, and green bell pepper. Sauté until tender.
  4. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce until well blended with the veggies.
  5. Place the mushrooms on the grill or in the skillet, gill side down. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip the mushrooms and spoon the garlic mixture into the caps.
  7. Continue cooking for another 5-6 minutes until fully cooked.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the mushrooms before cooking or topping with crumbled feta cheese.
