Description

Delicious Oatmeal Cinnamon Waffles, perfect for lazy brunches or quick breakfasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (any kind works)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine rolled oats and milk in a bowl; let them soak for about 10 minutes to soften.
  2. In another bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the oat mixture; stir until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just blended. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  6. Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the waffle iron, close it, and cook as per your manufacturerโ€™s instructions until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup or buttermilk syrup for an extra touch of sweetness.

Notes

For a healthier twist, swap the flour with whole wheat flour. You can also make the batter in advance and store it in the fridge.
