Description

A delightfully crispy fried bread topped with hearty ingredients, perfect for gatherings and customization.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Oil for frying
  • Toppings of your choice: ground beef, beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, salsa

Instructions

  1. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Pour in the warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about five minutes, until it is smooth and pliable.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls and gently flatten each into a disc about ยผ inch thick.
  5. Heat enough oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat to cover the base of the pan.
  6. Fry each disc until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the fry bread and let it drain on paper towels.
  8. Top your fry bread with ground beef, beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and salsa.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days in the fridge or freeze for longer storage.
