- 1 pound Ground Beef or Lamb
- 1 medium Grated Onion
- 1/2 cup Chopped Parsley
- 2 cloves Minced Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 Lemon
- 4 pieces Pita or Rice
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef or lamb, grated onion, chopped parsley, minced garlic, cumin, allspice, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a large mixing bowl. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully blended.
- Shape the mixture into long, oval kebabs or patties, about 6 inches in length.
- Add the olive oil to a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the kafta in the skillet, cooking for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the kafta while cooking to enhance the flavor.
- Serve hot with pita or rice, alongside your favorite dips.
Notes
For a twist, consider adding diced bell peppers or swapping parsley for fresh mint. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.
