Description

A flavorful Lebanese dish featuring ground beef or lamb mixed with fresh herbs and spices, perfect for cozy dinners or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Lamb
  • 1 medium Grated Onion
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Parsley
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Allspice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Lemon
  • 4 pieces Pita or Rice

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef or lamb, grated onion, chopped parsley, minced garlic, cumin, allspice, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a large mixing bowl. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully blended.
  2. Shape the mixture into long, oval kebabs or patties, about 6 inches in length.
  3. Add the olive oil to a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the kafta in the skillet, cooking for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through.
  4. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the kafta while cooking to enhance the flavor.
  5. Serve hot with pita or rice, alongside your favorite dips.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding diced bell peppers or swapping parsley for fresh mint. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.
