Description

A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender ground beef and perfectly cooked linguine, infused with garlic and savory sauces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine according to the package instructions. Once al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a splash of oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the ground beef. Cook until it’s browned and cooked through, draining any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, ground black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine.
  5. Whisk together the cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Pour this mixture into the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  6. Toss the drained linguine into the skillet, ensuring every strand is well coated in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For a vegetarian twist, replace ground beef with tofu. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
