A one-pan dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with gooey cheese sauce and zesty salsa, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook the chicken in the skillet, browning it on both sides for about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the browned chicken to a baking dish and pour salsa on top.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the salsa-covered chicken.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, pair with warm flour tortillas, rice, or tortilla chips. Adjust spices to suit your preference.
