Description

A rich and indulgent chocolate layer cake infused with coffee and Kahlua, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup Kahlua
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl and whisk until well blended.
  3. Mix the softened butter, eggs, Kahlua, brewed coffee, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Beat together butter, powdered sugar, Kahlua, and brewed coffee until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  9. Frost the top of one cake layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.
  10. Slice into generous pieces and enjoy your delicious cake!
