- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- Dissolve the sugar in warm water, sprinkle the yeast on top, and let it stand for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and Italian herbs to the bowl, along with 2 cups of flour. Stir until well combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a lightly floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the kneaded dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
- Punch down the dough to release air bubbles, then fold in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for roughly 30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
