Description

A delightful Italian Herb Cheese Bread recipe that combines authentic flavors and warm, comforting textures, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the sugar in warm water, sprinkle the yeast on top, and let it stand for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and Italian herbs to the bowl, along with 2 cups of flour. Stir until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Transfer the kneaded dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Punch down the dough to release air bubbles, then fold in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for roughly 30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
