Description
Quick and healthy homemade cereal bars packed with oats, nuts, and dried fruits. Perfect for breakfast or a snack!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup nuts (your choice—almonds, walnuts, or a mix)
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
- 1/2 cup dried fruits (like cranberries or raisins)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, nuts, and salt. Mix well.
- In a saucepan, heat the honey (or maple syrup) and peanut butter (or almond butter) over low heat. Stir until smooth and fully combined.
- Remove from heat and incorporate the vanilla extract into the mixture.
- Pour this mixture over the oats and nuts, stirring until everything is evenly coated.
- Add in the dried fruits, mixing until they are well distributed.
- Press the oat mixture firmly into the prepared baking pan to ensure the bars hold together.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly firm to the touch.
- Once done, let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing them into your desired shapes.
Notes
For nut-free options, substitute nuts with seeds like sunflower or pumpkin seeds. Adding chocolate chips or a sprinkle of cinnamon can enhance the flavor.
