Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until cooked through. Drain off any excess grease.
- In a large baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes evenly across the bottom.
- Top the potatoes with the cooked ground beef mixture, spreading it out evenly.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the entire dish, ensuring a good distribution.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously on top.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to sit for 5 minutes before serving.
