Description

A hearty and satisfying casserole that combines ground beef, potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup, topped with melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until cooked through. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a large baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes evenly across the bottom.
  4. Top the potatoes with the cooked ground beef mixture, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the entire dish, ensuring a good distribution.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously on top.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Allow the casserole to sit for 5 minutes before serving.
