Description

Heaven on Earth Cake is a delightful treat that combines light, fluffy angel food cake with creamy topping and cherry pie filling, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 prepared angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Optional: sliced almonds or maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk the instant pudding mix with the cold milk for about 2 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
  2. Stir in the sour cream until smooth and combined. Set aside.
  3. Layer half of the angel food cake cubes evenly across the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the layer of cake.
  5. Top with the remaining cake cubes.
  6. Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the top layer of cake.
  7. Use the whipped topping to cover the pudding layer, spreading it to the edges.
  8. Spoon dollops of the remaining cherry pie filling over the whipped topping.
  9. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 240 minutes (overnight for best flavor).
  10. Garnish with sliced almonds or maraschino cherries before serving, if desired.
