Description
An indulgent and creamy sauce that elevates any pasta dish or enhances meats and veggies with rich flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
- ¼ cup milk or cream
- ¼ cup Gorgonzola cheese
- 1 tbsp white truffle oil
- Ground sage (or freshly chopped)
- Ground oregano (or freshly chopped)
- Ground thyme (or freshly chopped)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (to top)
Instructions
- Heat a large saucepan over medium/low heat and add the olive oil or butter.
- Once hot, toss in the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes.
- After 4 minutes of cooking, sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper on the mushrooms.
- Pour in your milk or cream and add the Gorgonzola cheese. Stir until the cheese has fully melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in the white truffle oil and your choice of herbs. Adjust with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, sprinkle in a bit more Gorgonzola or Parmesan cheese until you reach your desired consistency.
- Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce and coat evenly.
- Serve with a generous topping of grated Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
Notes
Avoid cooking mushrooms on high heat to prevent them from browning too quickly. You can customize the sauce with different cheeses or add-ins like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes.
