Description

Delicious Southern-style fritters made from creamy, cheesy grits, perfect as a snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked grits
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the cooked grits, shredded cheese, chopped green onions, flour, egg, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
  5. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides.
  6. Remove the fritters from the pan and let them drain on paper towels.
