Instructions
- Begin by cleaning the enoki mushrooms gently and trimming the base.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually whisk in the cold water until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Dip the enoki mushrooms into the batter, ensuring they’re well-coated, then carefully place them into the hot oil.
- Fry the mushrooms for about 3-4 minutes or until they turn a lovely golden brown and crispy.
- Once they’re ready, remove them and let them drain on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute gluten-free flour. Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
