Description

A vibrant and refreshing salad combining ripe tomatoes, aromatic garlic, and fresh basil.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe heirloom tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 fresh garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into wedges or bite-sized pieces.
  2. Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.
  3. Combine the tomatoes and garlic in a mixing bowl.
  4. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and add balsamic vinegar if using.
  5. Tear the fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them over the top.
  6. Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste, tossing everything gently to combine.
  7. Let it sit for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
