Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup jam (choose your favorite flavor)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough just comes together.
  5. Roll small balls of dough (about 1 inch in diameter) and arrange them on the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  6. Use your thumb or the back of a teaspoon to create an indentation in each cookie.
  7. Fill each indentation with approximately one teaspoon of jam.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving to add an elegant touch!
