Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup espresso chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture gradually, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the espresso chips and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop rounded portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space in between.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set, keeping centers soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with a glass of cold milk or a hot espresso. For best flavor, sprinkle sea salt on top before baking.
