- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Divide the dough into three equal portions. Color one portion with red food coloring, the second with blue, and leave the third plain.
- Roll each portion into small balls and flatten them slightly.
- Arrange the cookies on ungreased baking sheets, ensuring they are spaced apart to allow for spreading.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn lightly golden. Let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative or use a sugar substitute. Ensure butter is softened for best mixing results.
