Description

Indulge in these soft, chewy cookies filled with molten caramel and chunks of rich chocolate, perfect for any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar (lightly packed)
  • 2 Large Eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Caramel Flavored Chips
  • Sea Salt Flakes (for sprinkling)
  • Caramel Sauce or Dulce de Leche (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Adjust your oven rack to the 2nd level mark and preheat your oven to 375ºF. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. Beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended. Scrape down the sides as needed.
  5. Reduce the mixer speed to low, gradually adding the dry mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel chips.
  6. Drop dough onto the baking sheets, placing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Sprinkle the tops with sea salt flakes.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are slightly underbaked.
  9. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Drizzle caramel sauce or dulce de leche on top of cooled cookies, if desired.

Notes

Substitute regular chocolate chips with dark chocolate for a richer flavor or use butterscotch chips for a unique twist.
