Description

Delightful and flaky blueberry biscuits perfect for breakfast or brunch, combining ripe blueberries with buttery goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until well combined.
  3. Incorporate the chilled butter into the dry mixture until it resembles a crumb-like texture.
  4. Combine the mixture with milk gently until the dough just comes together.
  5. Fold in the fresh blueberries, being careful not to crush them.
  6. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it forms a cohesive ball.
  7. Roll the dough out to about 1-inch thickness.
  8. Cut out rounds with a biscuit cutter and place them on a baking sheet.
  9. Add sugar on top of each biscuit if desired.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm!

Notes

For a healthier option, swap all-purpose flour for whole wheat or use plant-based milk for a dairy-free version.
