- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped apples (peeled and cored)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- For the glaze: 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a loaf pan.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until combined.
- Mix the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir gently until just mixed.
- Fold in the chopped apples and nuts if youโre using them.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Prepare the praline glaze: combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth and boiling; cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the warm glaze over the bread while itโs still in the pan.
- Let the bread cool slightly before removing from the pan. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a twist, add a pinch of nutmeg with the cinnamon for added warmth and depth.
