- 1 homemade all-butter pie crust
- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate and butter together, stirring continuously until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients and stir well.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate filling into your prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the filling is set with a slight jiggle in the center.
- Allow the pie to cool before slicing.
Notes
Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Best served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to five days.
