Description

A slow-cooked pot roast infused with the rich flavors of French onion soup, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sear the roast in a skillet with olive oil, seasoning it with salt and pepper.
  2. Layer the onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Mix the beef broth, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
  4. Pour the broth mixture over the seared roast on top of the onions.
  5. Slow cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until tender.
  6. Serve the roast hot, garnished with thyme or parsley.

Notes

Allow leftovers to cool before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
