Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: herbs (like oregano or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the sourdough discard and all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  5. Slice the dough into sticks or strips.
  6. Arrange the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Sprinkle additional cheese and herbs on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
