A flavorful side dish featuring perfectly roasted broccoli florets coated in garlic and Parmesan.
Ingredients

- 1 pound (450 grams) broccoli florets, trimmed into bite-sized pieces
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Zest of half a lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Rinse the broccoli florets thoroughly and dry them well.
- Whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a medium bowl.
- Add the dried broccoli florets to the bowl, coating each piece evenly.
- Spread the broccoli in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Roast for 10 minutes, then flip the florets using tongs and roast for an additional 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan over the broccoli and return to the oven for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, zest half a lemon over the top, and toss gently before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add smoked paprika or toss in cherry tomatoes before roasting. Experiment with different cheeses for a twist.
