Description

Delicious egg rolls filled with tender chicken and fresh vegetables, served with a homemade sweet and sour sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 package egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (for the sauce)

Instructions

  1. Combine the shredded chicken, cabbage, grated carrots, green onions, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce in a large bowl. Mix everything well until evenly coated.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean countertop. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper according to the package instructions, making sure to seal it carefully.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently add the egg rolls, frying them until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Combine sugar, vinegar, ketchup, and soy sauce in a saucepan over medium heat for the sweet and sour sauce. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Serve your crispy egg rolls with the sweet and sour sauce on the side, and enjoy!

Notes

You can substitute chicken for shrimp or tofu for different protein options. Fry in batches to ensure even cooking.
