Description
A luxurious blend of creamy cheesecake and a crispy caramelized sugar topping, inspired by the classic French dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for caramelizing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325ยฐF (160ยฐC).
- Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Mix well and press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to create your crust.
- Beat the softened cream cheese and sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract and heavy cream until fully blended.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in your preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the center is set but still has a slight jiggle.
- Allow the cheesecake to cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of granulated sugar on top. Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until it forms a crispy shell.
- Slice your cheesecake and serve it cold, presenting those beautiful layers for a delightful dessert.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Caramelize the sugar layer just before serving to maintain its crunch.
