Description
A warm and comforting dish that combines tender chicken breasts with orzo pasta in a rich and creamy sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through. Once done, remove the chicken and set aside.
- Cook the garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Combine orzo and broth: Add the orzo pasta and chicken broth to the skillet, stirring to mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Add cream and cheese: Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, mixing until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Slice the chicken and return it to the skillet, allowing it to warm through in the sauce for a few minutes.
- Finishing touches: Garnish your dish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
