- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter until well mixed.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Add in the baking soda and a pinch of salt, mixing gently.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour, stirring just until combined—be careful not to overmix!
- Beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the banana batter, then top with the remaining banana batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
