Description

A delightful twist on traditional lasagna, made with creamy cottage cheese and gooey mozzarella, perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, egg, chopped basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom.
  5. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the cottage cheese mixture on top, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers, placing another 3 noodles, the remaining cottage cheese mixture, and another layer of mozzarella.
  7. Finish with the final layer of noodles, then top with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with more mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ingredients like ricotta for cottage cheese, or use gluten-free noodles for dietary preferences.
