- 9 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, egg, chopped basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the cottage cheese mixture on top, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers, placing another 3 noodles, the remaining cottage cheese mixture, and another layer of mozzarella.
- Finish with the final layer of noodles, then top with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with more mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving to allow the layers to set.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ingredients like ricotta for cottage cheese, or use gluten-free noodles for dietary preferences.
